I still can't reproduce it this way, but have found something else that could be possible cause. Those links are needed for my 2.6 otherwise it won't compile functinal code: /usr/include/asm -> /usr/src/linux/include/linux /usr/include/linux -> /usr/src/linux/include/linux /usr/src/linux -> /usr/local/src/linux /usr/local/src/linux -> /usr/local/src/linux-2.6.0 Also the hotplug is not immediately active when /etc/modules are parsed, so modprobe dvb-ttpci should be called later, after /etc/init.d/hotplug has been started... szap rises module usage count to 3 and after szap exits the usage count is 0 for dvb-ttpci... I have tested it with vdr too, when usage count rises sometimes to over 20 and always returns to 0.
