I have Gentoo Linux (2.6.1-epia kernel) running on a Via EPIA-M10000 with a VisionPlus DVB-T card. I've used the kernel's stock DVB support, and it works fine (i.e. I can stream from dvbstream to a file, and view that in mplayer.)
I'm trying to install MythTV, which requires linuxtv-dvb and libdvb. When I emerge linuxtv-dvb, it fails like so:- >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking linuxtv-dvb-1.0.1.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/linuxtv-dvb-1.0.1/work >>> Source unpacked. cat: CVS/Root: No such file or directory (cd driver; make) make[1]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/linuxtv-dvb-1.0.1/work/linuxtv-dvb -1.0.1/driver' Makefile:102: /lib/modules/2.6.1-epia/build/Rules.make: No such file or directory make[1]: warning: jobserver unavailable: using -j1. St op. !!! ERROR: media-tv/linuxtv-dvb-1.0.1 failed. !!! Function src_install, Line 35, Exitcode 2 !!! (no error message) I tried injecting linuxtv-dvb (since I already have DVB drivers installed and working), and moving on to libdvb-0.5.0-r1, but that also fails with a number of errors (that look like undeclared variables.) Being a Gentoo (and linux!) newbie, these errors really don't mean a whole lot to me! I assume that I _do_ need to emerge these packages successfully before I can emerge MythTV. I have tried (unsuccessfully) to subscribe to, and post this to the MythTV list as well, so if it _does_ turn up there, apologies for the duplicate post! Your help would be greatly appreciated.
