Does anyone know what is going on at www.openbios.org? Is there anyone working with the linux ROMfs? I thought if you could bypass the bios and burn eproms for a 64bit system you would not have to worry about disk drives at all. DEC's alpha chip has a flash bootloader which will boot Linux from ROM, i think. The trick is to get a cheap evaluation board or a PC104 system with enough RAM. Does anyone know anything about running a filesystem directly from ROM mapped into the general address space (above the RAM of course)?
