        There is an interactive kernel debugger patch from
        an SGI employee.  It can be found at:

 I've also heard of a set of kernel patches that allows Linux
 to be run as a user space process (for development and debugging).
 Search the kernel mailing list archives for details.  A good 
 set of links to finding kernel resources is at:
