I agree with you there is a need for a true FAQ near this mailing list.
There is also a need for a true HOWTO
and maybe for some advocacy documents.
The texte i have "made" is a mix of some intervention from this mailing list
and from many forums. And when i started it (03/1999) the more frequently
questions
were Why ? and Howto ? But i am sure there now enough different experiences,
people and
knowledge around this mailing list and over the net to do at least the FAQ and an
HOWTO.
For is major part the HOWTO would be a meta howto with links to other docs.
