Hi,
I've been experimenting with a small (size of a floppy drive) board based
on an AMD 5x133 processer. This board has all the onboard things like
ethernet, DOC, floppy, IDE, etc. It goes for about $250 without video and
$350 with video.
Now I am looking for something that has some expansion possibility, a PCI
slot. And I am looking for something with audio.
One of the things that looks attractive is the Netpliance I-Opener box. I
wonder what the 'real' cost would be of this unit. The advertised $99
price requires a commitment on paying a $20+ Internet access fee.
There are also some very attractive boards from a couple of vendors for
settop on internet appliances (under $300 including case and powersupply).
However, none of these are based on an x86 processor.
So I am wondering if anyone here knows of any products available for under
$300......
Adi
