Hi,
I installed a small linux on a notebook hd
(not in a notebook..).

it boot and run correctly if i use the lilo of my
primary master HD, but if i try to install lilo on the
notebook hd to use it as primary master (now its
connected as secondary master on my pc) he get me the
following error:

IN> lilo -r /mylinux/
OUT>First boot sector has a pre-21 LILO signature

<----------->

IN> lilo -r /mylinux/ -v -v
OUT> LILO version 21, Copyright 92-98 Werner
Almesberger

Reading boot sector from /dev/hda
Merging with /boot/boot.b
Secondary loader: 8 sectors.
First boot sector has a pre-21 LILO signature

END OUT ----- >

a possible error could be...:

IN> lilo -r /mylinux/ -v -v -v
OUT> LILO version 21, Copyright 1992-1998 Werner
Almesberger

Caching device /dev/hda (0x0300)
Caching device /dev/hda1 (0x0301)
Caching device /dev/hda2 (0x0302)
...
Caching device /dev/sdb8 (0x0818)
Reading boot sector from /dev/hda
Merging with /boot/boot.b
Caching device /dev/hdc1 (0x1601)

cylinders,
               63 sectors. Partition offset: 63
sectors.
Secondary loader: 8 sectors.
First boot sector has a pre-21 LILO signature
<END OUT>

.. that he dont like 1027 cylinders (normally not 1024
??)

Please tell me how can i force the mbr cleaning..
i tried <fdisk /mbr> and reformatting HD.
If you know other loaders like lilo that run on
embedded systems, please tell me how to install them
(w/o compiler) and where download them.

Thanks.. i offer a beer to the one who helps me :))
