This will be my first attempt at embedding linux in
anything. I have a device with a PPC 823 chip.
It has 128K of ram and 256K of flash. What I need
to be able to do is build enough kernel for the
following:

1) operate the 600x200 lcd
2) oeprate the keyboard for the device
3) run tcp/ip
4) run a web browser such as lynx

in addition, the device has no floppy or otherwise.
It does have a PCMCIA device I will eventually use,
but
the question is where do I start as far as building
a linux that "just comes up" without some sort of
boot device, and where can I find information on how
to pare it down in this way? I have thought of a RAM
boot device, but I imagine I will have to write the
boot code as well, and this would probably just
complicate things.
