Hi,
I am working with that set-top box for a different project. I don't
believe the infrared port on that box is IrDA compliant, rather it is a
receive only keyboard port.
So you might be able to control the box using the pilot as a remote but
you won't be able to do erial communications via the IR port.
Makes sense?
