Mainly you don't need any BIOS for initializations or normal work of
Linux. Linux do it for you if it known about. But what is happen on
system boot up ? Now, in most cases you need a BIOS too boot Linux. If
there is now BIOS you have to look for some other solutions to boot up
Linux. Ask further.
