Hi All,
This is the ninth consecutive week I have been working on trying to prepare 'linux
on a floppy' and now, as I have already written previously,I have this problem.As soon
as I enter the username as root and press enter the password prompt comes(previously
this was also not coming,but after I added /dev/tty it appeared)and after I enter the
password as in my /etc/passwd file and press enter this error is flashed login[45]:
invalid password for 'UNKNOWN' on tty1 and then comes 'login incorrect'.Please tell me
what could be the possibilities of this error.I was initially using /bin/login but it
was giving problem thats why I am now using 'tinylogin' which is a utility available
on Lineo.com and can be used instead of login.
Please try to help me out, otherwise I will go mad with it.I am just stuck.I am using
redhat 6.2 .Tell me all the possibilities of this error even the silliest ones.Thanks
