I had this same curiosity for sarge and found that when I added the linux standard base (the lsb package), one of it's postinstall scripts enables shadow passwords (and announces that when the package is installed). Haven't tried this on woody but I would suspect it would be the same.
Give that a try. Someone else might know other ways to achieve shadow passwords. -Eric Malkowski > Hi all, > > it 's possible ti use /etc/shadows with a fai installation > because actualy all passxord has been put in /etc/passwd .... > > i'm using FAI 2.5.4 for Woody > > thanks > > > SAUVEUR Marc > Belgium > > > -- > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. > Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 265.8.6 - Release Date: 7/02/2005 >
