Do you really want to do a complete installation using FAI, i.e., including the
partitioning, or are you primarily interested in managing the configuration
using FAI?
I had a complete installation in mind, which would need to preserve of
course the disk partition where the install kernel, nfsroot and
configuration space is installed.
