Hello,
I have found the problem.
In etch the sshd_config has the following:
AcceptEnv LANG LC_*
My ssh_conffig on the client has:
SendEnv LANG LC_*
So these variables have are passed over ssh.
When I go via an other machine that doesn't pass the environment
variables I don't have the problem.
