You can call fai-debconf and then $ROOTCMD dexconf at the end of
installation (in a shell script). This should generate a proper xorg.conf file.

Cheers, that did it :) I'm hardly experienced with FAI at all, but i'm planning on using it to replace our current (rsync based) installation system, and this far i'm liking it.
