Hi FAI users, after several month of work, the new release of FAI version 3.3 is now available. I've added serveral new options for following commands:
fai-mirror: -a helps downloading packages from other architecture fai: -s specify URL of config space fai-chboot: -u specify URL of config space fai-cd: -H puts all directories from the nfsroot onto the fai CD or USB stick Now, it's very easy to set up a FAI install server for i386 on a host running amd64 and vice versa. And a lot of bugs were closed! Many thanks to Michael Tautschnig who improved a lot of things in setup-storage. These are other news in FAI - automatic tests are now supported - support for apt keys using files named package_config/*.asc - use Debian geo mirrors in default configuration - the fai-guide is now written in AsciiDoc FAI 3.3 is tested with Debian 5.0 aka lenny, and can be downloaded from all Debian mirrors or if you add following line to sources.list: deb http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/download lenny koeln Also, new fai-cd ISO images for i386 and amd64 are available at http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/fai-cd Any feedback on this shiny new release is highly appreciated. About FAI: FAI is a non-interactive system to install, customize and manage Linux systems and software configurations on computers as well as virtual machines and chroot environments, from small networks to large infrastructures and clusters. It's a tool for mass unattended Linux installation. You can take one or more virgin systems, turn on the power, and after a few minutes, the systems are installed, and completely configured to your exact needs, without any interaction necessary.
