Hi all, FAI 3.3.3 was just released. It now has support for zypper, the package management for Suse Linux. The installation process is now much faster, since FAI puts a ramdisk onto /var/lib/dpkg during installation. I was alble to reduce the installation time from 11 to 9 minutes running an installation which installs slightly more than 3GB of software. Another test showed, that having the whole /var inside a ramdisk during installation (you need a lot of ram for this) another minute could be safed.
FAI 3.3.3 is running with Ubuntu lucid and also includes a couple of setup-storage fixes. Add the following line to your source.list file, and you will get the newest FAI version. deb http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/download lenny koeln -- regards Thomas
