I can't really say whether this is a bug or a feature, but what happens is: - task_chboot calls $frsh /usr/sbin/fai-chboot -vd $ipaddr - hence fai-chboot will use ip2hex to translate $ipaddr to a MAC address - ip2hex does the translation to a form without "-" and no leading 01 What you would need is a modification of task_chboot that calls fai-chboot with the MAC address in 01-... format - or switch your pxeconfig names to a different format.
