If you changed to "install" or "install-norec", then there should be no
errors any more. I wonder what you mean by "the same problem with
aptitude" if no aptitude is used.
Oh. Maybe this option was added to apt/apt-get in a version that is
newer than the one you are using (inside the nfsroot).
