Hi,
I found the loop device in vanilla 2.3.42 to corrupt directory entries by
duplicating some and leaving out others. The effect doesn't affect 2.2.13.
The bug is reproducible (even across reboot) but not the files that
are duplicated.
Both isofs and loop were autoloaded modules.
No highmem, UP, kernel compiled for pentium.
I hope this hasn't been discussed to death.
