A simple "fixed in glibc 2.1" would have sufficed.
I do not have a test release of glibc. I neither know nor
particularly care where to get one. The "Reporting Bugs" section of
the Texinfo manual does not say, "please make sure your bug hasn't
been fixed in some test release", it says to indicate what version of
glibc you are using (which I did implicitly by indicating "stock Red
Hat Linux 5.2").
I sent my bug report to Xavier (as the LinuxThreads documentation says
to do), bug-glibc (as the glibc documentation says to do), and
linux-gcc (since it is a Linux-specific problem). Which of these
qualifies as "complaining loudly"?
If you expect some other procedure to be followed when reporting bugs,
you should document such, and not slam someone for following the
procedure you DID document.
I am glad to hear that the problems have been fixed; thanks.
