I've uploaded to ftp://sourceware.cygnus.com/pub/glibc/releases the files md5 c8a764213b532b1af093248b2306c5a9 glibc-2.1.92.tar.bz2 e6a9a606265d412d5718d70c102b12da glibc-2.1.92.tar.gz (use .bz2 instead) b233497bc27288dadcf3120f1e32609f glibc-2.1.91-2.1.92.diff.gz fdfafee21ca794ca86709ae1d9c5b283 glibc-linuxthreads-2.1.92.tar.gz The changes from the 2.1.91 release are numerous (as can be seem by the size of the diff file). We tried to handle and resolve all reports coming in for 2.1.91 and also all outstanding reports in this test release with the result that I know fewer problems with this release than any previous one (this includes 2.1.3 etc). Many people are already using this version as the main version. But still be careful, there could be some bugs hidden and also incompatibilities might still exist. I've tested this release only on Linux/x86 and Linux/Arm (the only machines I have). The alpha, PPC, and SPARC versions should run or be not far from doing so. The same is true for the Hurd. I don't know about the rest. The Linux/IA-64 version will need special tools and kernel sources, the Linux/S390 version is incomplete. Please test this release as much as you can. I haven't received many reports for 2.1.91 which can means it was alsmost bug-free or not many people actually used it. Report all problems to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and *not* to me directly. Also don't send me questions, I won't answer. All this traffic should be directed to the libc-alpha list. If you send a report provide a test case if possible. If we cannot reproduce it in an acceptible time frame we'll forget about the report. If we have no test case the same problem can appear in future releases. Beside possible changes from the kernel side I consider the ABI fixed now. There will be more changes coming but beside bug fixes they'll only perform optimizations transparent to the user. -- ---------------. ,-. 1325 Chesapeake Terrace Ulrich Drepper \ ,-------------------' \ Sunnyvale, CA 94089 USA Red Hat `--' drepper at redhat.com `------------------------
