I'm getting confused even more while going through some postings and google
findings regarding Linux split site setups and quorum server. Alan writes a
lot about quorum server on his blog:
That's something you'd have to discuss with Alan.
Ok, so I'd like to join Alan into our discussion :) Alan, does quorum
server work or not ? Can users rely on that this pice of code stays in
the heartbeat distribution and the semantics will not change drastically ?
So if quorumd works well in certain environmnts can it be used ? (e.g.
non STONITH configurations).
I can't make statements for other developers. That's not my place.
I do believe the restrictions on the quorum server are too severe for me
to recommend that anyone uses it; and I wash my hands in clean water.
All I know and can make "official" statements about is my own
perspective, and possibly the support policy for Novell customers.
Ok, that's a statement.
P.s. Sorry for bothering, but I really think having a working DR setup with
Linux-HA (at least with 2 nodes) would be great.
Certainly it would. I look forward to code which implements it! ;-)
Me too, unfortunately I'm the worst C developer in the world :)
Robert
