There were a couple of emails in the last week or so about a code freeze.

Are we in one, or not? It so, how frozen is it? (Are there any unfrozen
pockets?)

The reason I ask is that I have two independent patches queued up for
portability aspects. Although independent, it just so happens that they
affect adjacent lines in the same "Makefile.am", so keeping track of them
locally is a pain.

I'd like to get both committed to CVS.

One of them, about better and more consistent determination of the python
environment, I posted a few days ago. I also emailed Alan (off list)
about the freeze, but I haven't head back.

The other is simply inserting some missing
   $(top_builddir)/replace/libreplace.la
lines in "lib/mgmt/Makefile.am" (so that "strnlen()" from our "replace"
library can be used if necessary.

Unless I hear to the contrary, I'll assume I can go ahead; probably in
about 24 hours: early Friday afternoon GMT/UTC. (But please feel free to
confirm the code freeze, if any, and then I'll hold off.)
