I don't think apologies are needed at all. On the contrary, your report was useful. Your email did two things: (1) identify a couple of issues (2) propose fixes for both of them. Both are appropriate, indeed good, for this list. Any disagreement (I'd prefer the word 'debate') was minor, and (I think) only concerned the nature of one of the proposed fixes for one of the issues. Far better to tell us of the issues, as you did!
