by default they do and yes, best practice is probably to put them
there... my point was that we can't rely on attributes only being in

Unless the solution is implemented in the CIB, I believe that's roughly
as good as it's going to get.
As best as I can remember, a CIB-based solution was declared off limits
several times.
We're just trying to muddle through as best we can without the right tools.
