After spending much of the weekend massaging the CVS extract, I can now report the conversion to Mercurial is complete.
The conversion contains everything currently in CVS (see below for details) and the results are now available at http://hg.beekhof.net

My intention now is to cease all CVS commits and use Hg exclusively.  A "best practices" document will also be circulated shortly.
Importing of "late" CVS commits will be done on request but will require the shipment of large quantities of pizza and/or belgian beer.

Tags for which the conversion verified "within reason":
 * TNG_2004_PRE_JOIN_2_0 : Development tag only applied to the CRM directory
 * TNG_2004_ALPHA_2            : Development tag only applied to the CRM directory
 * BETA_1_99_3                          : Development tag low importance
 * SLES10_RC3                           : Internal and unused SUSE tag

Tags for which the conversion didn't verify and can probably be removed:
 * STABLE_1_3_0 : Applies to only one file.  Probably a misspelling of BETA_1_3_0.
 * BETA_1_99_5    : Development tag - low importance
 * BETA_1_99_1    : Development tag - low importance
 * TNG_2004_ALPHA_1 : Development tag low importance

One important tag that failed completely was: STABLE_2_0_2
This release was created using a subset of the updates made since 2.0.1.
More specifically, some of the files changed contained updates that were part of change sets containing other updates that were excluded.

To address this I created a 2.0.1->2.0.2 patch from CVS, applied it to Hg, merged and updated the tag pointer.  So at least the files will match exactly.
If someone really needs some of the other failed or partially failed tags to be fixed in this manner, please let me know _soon_.

Other administrivia...

The following tags will likely be removed shortly unless there are strong objections:
STABLE_1_3_0
TNG_2004_ALPHA_1
TNG_2004_ALPHA_2
TNG_2004_PRE_JOIN_2_0
TNG_2004_CIB_BUILTIN

and possibly also:
SLES10_RC2_5
SLES10_RC3
SLES10_RC4_0
SLES10_RC4_1

(Lars, which SLES10 tag matches GM?  I'm thinking we should keep at least that one.)
