What like certified snail mail? This was done on company time, but writing scripts for power management devices
isn't anywhere near our core business. As such, we give these things back to the community where applicable. My manager
doesn't subscribe to this mailing list, he barely responds to email (what happens when you get to many emails). Its
unlikely, given he isn't a signing officer, you can get a long formal response from him sufficient to make a lawyer
happy. A month or so ago, when I suggested we send the STONITH script to the mailing list, his reply was (exact quote):
"So be it. Its good to contribute back. Thanks, Kipp"
Which is pretty much the same response I always get, when I have patches for
open source projects.
As such, I will state that the "license" blurb at the top of the script applies (its a copy paste from the ssh script).
Frankly, I suspect that no one at Gresham gives a rats a** about this. In that regard its all yours, do what you will.
Like the license says "This program is distributed in the hope that it would be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY". Since
it started its life as the ssh script, and some of that remains in this file (pretty much just the license at this
point) it could be viewed that we are required to provide it.
