IIUC lmb's take on this seems to be that on "exportfs -u", the NFS server _must_ always close any server-side file handles it holds that pertain to the directory being unexported. Judging by the exportfs man page I tend to agree, though I'm certainly no expert on the matter. If some (all?) NFS server implementations don't in fact act that way, then we need to work around that in the RA. Maybe LINBIT's resident NFS expert can help out -- Lars, can you comment? Cheers, Florian
