Hi

We're looking at setting up WebSphere MQ in a HA fail-over environment. This setup is described in detail in the excellent, albeit oldish, article:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-halinux2/

However, that article does not go into how to set up a monitor for the heartbeat system that will tell if MQ is up and running as expected. I can imaging a few ways of doing this (ping the listener, run dspmq, ps -ef or maybe all of the above).

MQ seems to be supported by IBM on linux-ha (http://www.linux-ha.org/Certifications), but not actual tools for setting it up is shipped with the product (as far as I know at least).

Has anyone done something like this and could share your insights?

Thanks!
/niklas
