A number of people have done so. There are some issues that in an ideal
world ought_to be taken care of. These weird corner cases would require
some changes to GPFS that they don't seem to be interested in at the moment.
So far no one has run into those in practice and told me about it.
An example of one of these is:
Heartbeat thinks that a certain node is in the membership
GPFS thinks it isn't
Then we schedule some resource on that node which needs a GPFS
filesystem. It doesn't work. We fumble around, then move it somewhere
else - increasing the downtime of the service unnecessarily, and
blacklisting the node for running those resources that failed.
In an ideal world, we would tell GPFS our membership, and they would
tell us theirs in a cooperative fashion.
GPFS works this way with every HA package, so we're at no greater
disadvantage than anyone else.
As such things go, it isn't a huge problem. Human error is more likely
to happen to you, and cause more problems.
