If Paul's suggestion of installing libncurses5-dev doesn't work, I will.
Is this actually stable though? From what I gather on the ha-linux
website I thought 2.0.8 was the most recent stable.
Its the same as what paying SUSE customers are now using.
I personally did a full set of release testing on it.

I actually filed a bug report on my problem after a previous thread here
ran dry. It's bug #1596 but it hasn't been addressed yet. The problem
Ah, i remember that one.
Unfortunately only Alan really knows that code and he doesn't appear
to be around much lately.
was with either Ubuntu Feisty or Debian Etch using either the heartbeat2
package from the repos or the ones from:
http://software.opensuse.org/download/server:/ha-clustering/ for Ubuntu
and Debian respectively there would be errors written to
'/var/log/messages' every heartbeat. The error was:
Jun 13 12:25:01 vash heartbeat: [2929]: WARN: ha_msg_add_nv_depth: line
doesn't contain '='
Jun 13 12:25:01 vash heartbeat: [2929]: info:

Where 'vash' is the server name and '2927/2929' are the PIDs.
Over and over. This flooded the logs pretty quickly and wasn't something
I could live with, I am afraid.
Understandably
This occurred on two separate servers,
too. One a whitebox and one an HP/Compaq Proliant. In all cases HB2 was
the first thing I tried to install after a fresh OS install and update.
I did continue on under Debian to install DRBD but the errors above
continued to print.
Thanks for your interest and help!
