I would suggest getting the latest. Linux HA seems to have a steady
growth of bug fixes and features. Sure version 2.0.1 might work find
for me, but I may not be using all the features, if you are having a
problem someone is likely to tell you to upgrade anyway.

I would defer to the packages from your operating system vendor. They
are going to be most compatable.

I did 'yum install heartbeat'. This will get you in action quickly. If
you find something missing from the vendor package you can always go
your own way build from src etc. The bundled package I think is the
way of least resistance.
