Hello,

Following Newton's third law, people on this list pushed me away from
heartbeat 2.0.x (which is ~buggy to be honest) so I've been pushed all
the way to 2.1.1. I would like to share with you the build process, a
few small steps actually.

1. Download libnet from http://www.packetfactory.net/libnet/dist/libnet.tar.gz
2. ./configure && ./make && ./make install it.
3. Download glib-devel-1.2.10-15.i386.rpm
gnutls-devel-1.0.20-3.2.3.i386.rpm libgcrypt-devel-1.2.0-3.i386.rpm
libgpg-error-devel-1.0-1.i386.rpm from rhn.redhat.com. Email me anyone
who needs these RPM's but does not have access to rhn.
4. Download heartbeat 2.1.1 from http://hg.linux-ha.org/test/archive/tip.tar.gz
5. tar xzvpf tip.tar.gz
6. cd into the directory and run > sudo ./ConfigureMe package

That's all, your RPM's will end up in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/

HTH,
Maxim.

P.S,
I would really be helpful to put this small howto somewhere on
linux-ha, I never imagined it would be that easy to get an updated
RPM.

agreed
would you be able to do this? (its a wiki remember :)
