Just a quick note. Novell does not longer support your system if it is
update through unofficial system.

Hi Jan,

thank you for that hint. I do know this.
Your comment can be a good starting point to discuss
about that in general. ;-)

a) Some of the SuSE guy on that list recommended to use 2.1.0
if someone is interested in stability.
As a "normal" customer I want to use HA for, yes, High Availability.
I don't want to introduce a complicated system to lower the availability.

b) What support are you talking about, when you buy SLES with installation support only?

Best regards
Andreas Mock

Hi Matilda.

Re the support: This will really only apply to you if you depend on Novell's commercial support. If you're fine with OSS support (like forums, google, this mailing list, etc), then it won't really matter. On the other hand if you are running some of Novell's commercial software on there, you may just need to read the end user license to see if they application itself will be supported once the OS's updates comes from a different source than the commercial source.

But, I would also suggest, read the CHANGELOG file on the 2.1.1 to see if there's anything that would benefit you, which will force you to upgrade now. Maybe you don't need that version right now, if 2.1.0 works fine for you, and you can wait until Novell release their 2.1.1. version for SLES.

Kind Regards
