Hi,

I would like to ask for any ideas to the solution of the following problem:
I'm using HA to provide two common IP addresses on each side of two routers
running Debian Etch with HA version 2.1.2.
For this I'm using 2 IPaddr2 resources which have a constraint to stay
together on one PC (as I read here before using a group makes the failover
slover). I was setting up a rule so, that the resources prefer to stay on
Router B. I'm starting a VoIP stream over the common IP addresses between two
VoIP servers. To make it easier to follow (my not so great english :):
           +---Router A --+
         | |
VoIP1 ---+ +---VoIP2
           | |
           +---Router B --+
Now if Router B has the Resources (the IP addresses) and I pull the plug of
it, then there is a gap in the Stream.
My job is to minimise that, and I succeded to get it down to approx. 0.3 -
0.4 sec.
I'm using a preemptive linux kernel, low timeouts in ha.rc and even realtime
priority for heartbeat.
Now I'm quite satisfied, but there is one big problem, that short takeover
time is true only from the second takeover. If ha was started freshly on
Router A then the first takeover from Router B takes sometimes up to 4 secs.
If I don't pull the plug of Router B, but let it suspend by using the GUI,
then resuming again to allow him to take back those Ips, won't help. On the
following power loss of B it will again take longer for A to start thoose
resources.

Thanks in advance!

Peter

Ps. I didn't post all the config files, since my email is already getting too
long, if they are of any importance I will of course I do it.
