Hello,

This is something which was in the works for quite some time.

At times (probably more often than not) the reports on this list
and also in the bugzilla are not complete. And it is hard to
blame anybody for that because there are so many things to
remember and include in the report that probably the only way to
do it right is to let the computer do the work. So, here it is,
an automated heartbeat configuration/status/logs/whatnot
collector. It will go through many motions to dig out interesting
stuff.

The code is here:

http://hg.linux-ha.org/dev/raw-file/tip/tools/hb_report.in
http://hg.linux-ha.org/dev/raw-file/tip/tools/utillib.sh

Get those two files, copy them to /usr/share/heartbeat and rename
hb_report.in to hb_report. Change @sysconfdir@ to /etc (or
whatever is your system config directory) in one of the top lines
in hb_report.

I'll attach here the README in the html format as produced by
the asciidoc.

Please give it a whirl. Even if you are not planning to post the
results to the list, it may help in diagnosing problems.

I tested it on a couple of clusters and a few different logging
configurations, but there are probably so many out there. The
more we test it now the better it will be in the next release.

Cheers,

Dejan
