In a production environment... nagios is a good choice? I mean, extra
software should be installed in a machine within a secured environment.
It must be verified by the client and son on...
I think it's a MUST to implement an SNMP MIB module for a heartbeat
environment... The O&M people would be so happy with receiving an snmp
trap (they're interested only with alerts, don't matter how great is the
system) :D
In a near future, I will think in having a solution for this problem. If
anyone wants to join my team (me) for this patch :) any help will be
apreciated :)
thanks

Hi all,
i was looking for a kind of notification to be aware of the cluster. I
would like to be notified in case a node in a cluster is dead or
something like that about where cluster resources are running. I have
just seen a mib module for v1 cluster (as an external agent who
subscribes net-snmp agent).
Does anyone know how to monitor the cluster?
Thanks,
_Abraham
I am interested too !
creative monitoring with nagios (http://www.nagios.org/) works well too.
Yes, it's true when you already have a nagios platform (sic) which is
sure interesting (if not a "must-have") when HA is used in production.
I don't have nagios installed for now and having a simple way to be
notified during the test/development phase would help to gain time.
For those who want a quick way to set-up nagios, I had good feedback
about http://www.groundworkopensource.com/ : they offer a virtual
appliance and live cd for their software (which is based on nagios :
their interface is great but, if you want, you can fall back to the
standard nagios interface).
