I have submitted a few small correct patches to you for your consideration. I have proposed to you that I enhance some of your code in some modest but specific ways. I have suggested things that need attention. In each and every one of these cases you have replied with a resounding "NO", typically coupled with some kind of snarky and insulting invective - like you've specialized in in your emails over the last year or so.

It would have also been useful had you been involved 4 years ago
during the development of R2 when all these features were being
written and backwards compatibility wasn't a problem.

You know, I was. Maybe you remember that I was working on R2 before I encouraged SuSE to hire you (the whole 1.2.x series was all about infrastructure for R2). Just like now, you were not interested in input from me. I had to fight and fight and fight and fight to get even the smallest things changed. If I had been able to spend less time arguing over every little thing, then there would have been more time for development.

You may also recall that I had a development team working for me, so I didn't have much time to work on your code - and you made it abundantly clear you wanted to do everything yourself anyway.

If what you're trying to do is create an increasingly-more-hostile environment, which does a better and better job of discouraging collaboration, then you're succeeding magnificently!!

Hostility is not going to bring anyone to work with you.

So, instead of working on your code, I've spent my time documenting things, getting other companies (like NTT and NEC) to join the project, promoting the project, trying to help people understand how to use the software. I've tried to share the perspective of customers I've been working with back to developers on the project, I've put out a few releases, I've fixed a few bugs, and mentored a new SUSE HA developer. None of this is as much as I would have liked in an ideal world, but my day job keeps me busy.

Given the level of vitriol and hostility I've encountered from you, it's been difficult to keep doing these things.
