I use Dell Servers and use the DRAC (Dell Remote Access Card) as the
stonith. It supports IPMI and am using external stonith. See my
earlier post for setup. About $300/card.
As I know (and try), DELL x850, x950 Servers without DRAC card can
also support IPMI (>=1.5).
HP DL1xx support IPMI too, but DL3xx doesn't.
I've used wti_nps in the past, but didn't care for the model of
switch that I was using as it only allowed one telnet connection.
That was a few years back and I'm sure they've got around that
limitation. Paid $500, it allowed for 8 power plugs.
You may want to check with your hardware vendor and see if they sell
a card that supports IPMI. This will allow you to send a command to
power cycle the server. It will probably allow you to remotely
manage the server as well kind of a 2 for 1 one deal.

So I'd like to know which STONITH devices heartbeat users use.
Which device do you use?
What kind of device is it?
How much is it?
How well does it work?
What problems did you encounter?
Did you have to write the stonith plugin yourself?
If so, did you contribute it to the project?
As I'm not much of a programmer and have to buy some stonith hardware
within the next weeks, help on this would be much appreciated.

I'll even start with a "reply" myself:
APC AP7920 power distribution unit.
Cost about 450 Euros a piece.
It seems to work well, do not have it in production yet.
I set it up with apcmastersnmp.
