the crm is built to log to syslog
this command might stop it though:
HA_logfacility=none crm_verify -L -VVV

Pacemaker 0.6.0 == (the crm part of) Heartbeat 2.1.3
Pacemaker 0.6.2 is 0.6.0 plus a few bugfixes (zero features).
This means that Pacemaker is _exactly_ as mature as the code you're
running now^.
If anything, Pacemaker is more mature as it includes fixes for the
issues people have reported in the 4-5 months since 2.1.3 (or 14
months since 2.0.8)
But the choice is yours :)
