Hi, Proudly I can announce that O'Reilly published a new book about Linux-HA version 2. It is brand new and I hope it covers all topics from learning heartbeat up to a reference manual that every cluster admin should have in his book shelve.
For all readers I hope that the chapter about sample installations is very helpful. It covers - a fileserver, which shows the use DRBD with the OCF agent. - a firewall which allows the takeover of the iptables state table(!) and also takes care about OpenVPN and OpenSWAN. - a heartbeat cluster that make a LVS director high available including the takeover of active sessions during failover. For all admins the chapter about monitoring the cluster with SNMP and nagios should be interesting. As far a I can judge (I am the author) there is only one problem with the book: It is only available in German at the moment. Sorry. I am still trying to convice O'Reilly to translate it ;-) The link to the book is: http://www.oreilly.de/catalog/linuxhaclusterger/ Please feel free to mail me any comments and questions regarding the book or Linux-HA Version 2 clusters.
