Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the information. I am a CRM user, so I'll follow your advise
carefully to get me from 2.1.1 to 3.x.
Regards,
Ben

Dear Linux-HA,
Love the product, been using it for over two years now, seems to do the job
very well.
I am trying to find the source of the current version. But I am a little
confused as to what the current version is?
http://www.linux-ha.org/DownloadSoftware suggests the latest release source
is available from http://hg.linux-ha.org/heartbeat/tags.
This shows 2.1.1 from fourteen months ago, which seems quite old. (This is
my current version.)
I can also see 2.1.4 builds from a different URL, but no change-logs from
the 2.1.1?
The page also suggests there is a 3.x branch, but I can't see the source
code, or again any change logs from 2.1 to version 3?
So, should I be using 3.x, or 2.x? In either case I would like to see the
change-logs from 2.1.1 to what ever is the latest, if anybody can point me
towards them?
Sorry for being a little confused!
Not at all. Those pages are horribly out of date and need to be updated.
If you're not using the CRM (ie. with cib.xml) then just go with 2.1.4
(as it will have some slightly newer resource agents compared to
2.1.1) and ignore the rest of my email.
If you _are_ using the CRM, its a little more complicated as we've had
some major project changes.
Specifically the CRM is now a project in its own right called
Pacemaker ( http://clusterlabs.org ).
This necessitated the creation of 2.99.x (which is the feeder series
for 3.0.0) as the existing CRM needed to be removed from Heartbeat.
I suggest checking out
http://clusterlabs.org/mw/Releases#Supported_Release_Series
and then
http://clusterlabs.org/mw/Install
which will point you to
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/ha-clustering/
which has binary packages for the latest versions of everything.
PS, I also note that an attempt to list all version from this URL results in
a Python script error:
http://hg.linux-ha.org/lha-2.1/archive/
Try this instead:
http://hg.linux-ha.org/lha-2.1/tags
Or, for the latest and greatest:
http://hg.linux-ha.org/dev/tags
