Hi Landon,

I just recently installed 2.99.1. I got the rpm's from
http://www.clusterlabs.org/mw/Install

In the future they hope to simplify this and fully separate the
heartbeat/openais files.

These are the packages that I installed onto my RHES4 hosts.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm -qa | egrep -i "heartbeat|pacemak|opena"
libheartbeat2-2.99.2-3.1
openais-0.80.3-10.1
heartbeat-common-2.99.2-3.1
libpacemaker3-1.0.0-4.1
pacemaker-pygui-1.4-11.1
libopenais2-0.80.3-10.1
heartbeat-2.99.2-3.1
heartbeat-resources-2.99.2-3.1
pacemaker-1.0.0-4.1

Subject: [Linux-HA] Suggestions needed, SuSE 10

I spent quite a bit of time familiarizing myself with heartbeat 2.1.3,
ip address takeover, and drbd using 2 Ubuntu VMs. I was encouraged
enough by what I saw to move further into the solution space.

My ultimate target is a SuSE 10.1 production box with a twin in the
cluster. It seemed wise to me to base the ultimate solution on a 2.99
and Pacemaker base because that's mainly where the project's focus
will be in the near future (correct?) I expected if I based on 2.1.3,
I'd end up with a migration project later that I would like to avoid
if possible.

That said, it's a bit baffling to get the 2.99 and pacemaker
configuration installed on SuSE. Are there any tutorials that can
guide that process? Basic questions are:

what's the easiest way to install it? Yast2 with RPMs? If so, which
RPMs? Has someone compiled a list of dependencies to install first?

I tried installing the 2.99 RPMs and Pacemaker but end up with
uninstallable dependencies on things like IPMI and OpenAIS libraries.
I'm sure I don't understand all the common code and dependencies
between heartbeat and openais, ipmi libraries, etc. So, I never know
if I'm "over-installing". I would like to know just what I need to
get the 2.99 and pacemaker equivalent to the 2.1.3 and crm setup.

Any pointers to exact package lists, package install order,
dependencies, or other hints for getting this installed on SuSE would
be appreciated.

I have DRBD 8.2.6 built and installed on the SuSE box, so mainly, I
need some guidance on the heartbeat and pacemaker installs under SuSE.

Thanks for any help,

Landon
