If your interest is multimaster replication consider Fedora Directory
Server. You can multi-master up to 4 nodes. FDS is derived from the
netscape->aol->i-planet line. I have used it in several multi-master
deployments without a hitch. OpenLDAP has had multi-master for a
while, but every version I tried failed on the multimaster part of
'make test'.
