Greetings,
Does anyone have any commentary on how to approach running a Net-SNMP
server with HA services?
Specifically, I have a service on a shared IP in an active-passive
failover configuration that has an SNMP agent that speaks to the SNMP
server. I need to monitor various performance characteristics of that
service via SNMP; otherwise, I'm relatively uninterested in questions
of machine uptime and whether it has failed over because that's taken
care of by other means.
So, obviously Net-SNMP needs to be invoked by the CRM, and I'd need to
craft an OCF RA or use the LSB script to make that possible as a script
does not appear to be provided. And, of course, the agent and the SNMP
server would need to be supplied with command line options to bind to
the shared IP interface.
Beyond that, can anyone recommend any best practices or provide other
insights about problems I'm likely to run into doing things this way?
Cheers,
