OK, that's a relief. I chose to apply the patch because there are some features of 1.0.8-2 that I like (such as warning me when I have forgotten to explicitly set the start/stop timeouts). But after applying the patch, and figuring out how to compile Python into bytecode, it now works! Thank you very much.
