On the other hand, back in v1 days resource startup was done by a shell script, and resource monitoring was done by a perl script. The only thing missing for a simple stupid active/passive x-over-cable setup is a script for pinging the other host and screaming when it doesn't answer. Which you could do with e.g. the perl script above. About as much "getting over" as learning crm shell -- less, actually, since in this case I'd understand wtf I'm doing and why.
