Hi! Thanks for answering. However there's one thing I don't understand: [...] > > 3) If I want to protect an MD-RAID1, would it work if I partition the leg > > devices, put SFEX data in those partitions, and then require both SFEX > > resources before assembling the raid? > > > > Something like: group raid sfex_1 sfex_2 md_raid ... > > No. You don't put SFEX data in raid partitions. But don't I have to protect each shared block device idividually? If I have a shared storage providing several virtual disks for a cluster, how does it help if one node exclusively accesses one virtual disk, while the cluster arbitrarily accesses the rest of the virtual disks? I thought SFEX is using the SCSI reservation mechanism to assign disks on a LUN base. That is, any partition of one LUN ca nonly be accesses by one node. Did I misunderstand? > > Make a sfex partition individually on the shared storage > that can be accessible from Active and Standby node. I just want to make sure that no two nodes will assemble the same RAID. Can you explain your idea in some more detail? > > And grouping one sfex resource and md_raid resources. > group raid sfex_1 md_raid ... That might work as long as no node tried to access the other leg of the raid.
