Hi,

"null" in syslog messages always looks like a programming error to me; so what
does it mean?

Example:
Jul 4 11:10:15 hostname pengine: [11516]: notice: process_pe_message:
Transition 332: PEngine Input stored in: (null)
[...]
Jul 4 11:10:15 hostname crmd: [11517]: info: do_te_invoke: Processing graph 332
 (ref=pe_calc-dc-1309770615-810) derived from (null)

BTW: when processing a graph, PE talks about numbered actions and synapses, but
it's not clear what a specific action or synapse refers to. Example:

Jul 4 11:10:15 hostname crmd: [11517]: info: te_pseudo_action: Pseudo action 83
 fired and confirmed
[...]
Jul 4 11:10:15 hostname crmd: [11517]: WARN: print_graph: Synapse 3 is pending
(priority: 2570)

I'd be happier to know what "action 83" and "synapse 3" actually stand for.

Regards,
Ulrich
